With over 700 years of history and 145,000 students Sapienza – founded in 1303 by Pope Boniface VIII – is the first University in Rome and also the largest University in Europe: a city within the city. In Sapienza there are over 4,500 professors and 5,000 administrative and technical staff. The Rectorate is presently organized around a governing body model. A deputy Pro Rector and a group of Pro Rectors with specific skills support the Rector in the management of the University, with the help of some committees.

Sapienza offers a wide choice of courses including over 300 degree programs and 250 first and second level specialised qualifications. Sapienza puts 155 libraries and 21 museums at the disposal of its students, as well as other services: Ciao (Information, (More …)
